When We Are Closed
We are part of Western Urgent Care – a group of local doctors providing out-of-hours service.
Western Urgent Care operates from Tyrone County Hospital, Omagh. It will deal with urgent medical conditions or emergencies outside normal surgery hours – i.e. from 18:00 – 08:30 Monday to Friday and 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Patients should phone 028 7186 5195 or the usual surgery number. There will be a recorded message giving information about medical care out of hours and the phone number of the new service.
Depending on the seriousness of the condition the doctor may:
- Give advice over the phone.
- Ask the patient to attend the nearest hospital.
- Send an ambulance, either the usual ambulance or the cardiac ambulance.
- Advise attendance at Casualty.
- Arrange a home visit.
Western Urgent Care is not A Drop-in Centre
For reasons of security and good service please phone first to discuss with the doctor if you need to attend and if so, to arrange an appointment.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
